If you are looking for a weekend afternoon and evening out, Lower Lonsdale is definitely the area you want to visit in North Vancouver. 

Lower Lonsdale has two major attractions: the Lonsdale Quay Market and the Shipyard. With many restaurants, pubs and shops, there are all sort of things to do here. The Quay Market is an indoor market with many specialty stores, food court. During summer time there is weekly farmer’s market with local and organic greens and fruits, products.

 

The Shipyards has been redeveloped by the City of North Vancouver in recent years. Now it’s a favourite spot for walks on the pier and for lunch/dinner in one of the waterfront restaurants: JOEY, Pier 7, Tap and Barrel, just to name a few.  There is an ice rink during winter time in the Shipbuilder’s Square and Night Market, concerts during the summer months. Lonsdale Avenue has more selection to offer: fantastic pubs, ice cream shops, breweries, ethnic restaurants to try there.

There is so much more this vibrant area has to offer: hotels, the Polygon Gallery, Waterfront Park, Spirit Trail to name a few. 

Lonsdale Quay is easily accessible from Downtown Vancouver with the SeaBus. It’s been in service since 1977, it was the first high-capacity ferry service in the West Coast of North America.
